How-To Friday – Glazing Acrylic Paintings

Today’s videos are on using acrylic glazing. The videos by Tyrus Clutter and the Virtual Instructor start with a monochromatic painting – Tyrus uses Dioxazine Purple and the Virtual Instructor uses a greyscale painting or grisaille in Carbon Black and Titanium White. The underpainting colour used is not as important as the values however, the underpainting colour does affect the colour glazed over it (Tyrus Clutter video).

Last week in my Understanding Colour, I discussed value and had a monochromatic painting template and chart template for you to practice the values.
